The charity we have chosen for the 2017 ride is the Martinborough Volunteer Fire Brigade, and in particular, the fit-out of their new 4WD Incident Support vehicle, similar to that below
Thanks to all the riders who rode and so made the 2016 event a success enabling us to raise funds for the two beneficiary organisations - Life Flight and Blind Dogs. At our Rotary meeting on 17 May, we gave each charity a cheque for $4000.
And thanks also to the volunteers who marshalled, put out and took down signs and generally worked very hard to ensure that you could enjoy the event.
The results are showing on the History page
See you again later this year!
There will again be 3 rides of: 48km, 65km and 113km.
The 48km ride is a loop of Longbush Rd, Millars Rd to Ponatahi and back to Martinborough.
The 65km ride goes along Longbush Rd to Gladstone, across to Carters Line, Ponatahi and home.
The 113km ride is the 65km loop first, followed by the 48km loop.
Please make sure that you look closely at the map of the course to ensure you know what your chosen route is and where you should be going
The base for the event is to again be the Martinborough Rugby Club on the corner of New York St and Regent St. This means all rides will start and finish there, with the lunch and prize-giving also there.
We will again be selling the MCFR jerseys through this web site and at the ride itself. Fantastic Buying and a great jersey - see the Merchandise tab above.
A coffee cart has been booked for the day and Cycle Science will again be there with riding equipment for sale and a bike mechanic.
We will have extra loos available. Note that there are more loos across the grounds towards New York St in that lonely building!
Riders who come in after the caterer has left can still get a lunch by coming into the hall and to the kitchen. We will also be keeping prizes for late finishers if you are on the winners list.
